Why are humans, with the highest I.Q. in the animal world, the most destructive species by far?

It appears that nearly all of the other animal species are content to use just what they need. Our species has to aculate so many things that someone had to invent public storage. It might be that greed causes our destructive nature, but why?. We think that because we are human that every other species is there for our beck and call. We kill on a mive scale many other animals and if anything attacks us, we kill it. There used to be 200,000,000 Buffalo in North America. Seen one lately. No, they have all been harvested. How about the fact that + or - 90% of old growth forests have been cut down. So does intelligence equal violence and a need to plunder? I doubt it because I'm intelligent and I hate violence and I plundereth not. And many people I know are kind, concerned people who are equally frustrated at the state of the world. I am getting tired of this mad rush to drain planet Earth for all she's worth. Is this a species problem, a government problem or a religious problem?
