Would an advanced alien race really want to make contact with us?

Evan if our level of intelligence is all over the galaxy, I think aliens would be fascinated with us. We are at that moment where we just entered space. This could mean that they would not want to contact us. They would want to study us to get insight into how they may have pioneered space hundreds or thousands of years ago. In that case, they would not want to interfere with our natural development.
