Speaker Sound Quality Problems?

I have an excellent set of Logitech X-230 2.1 Speakers and subwoofer, they produced great sound but all of a sudden they sound like garbage, when playing music its very crackly, tinny and distorted and it was never like this beforehand. Any ideas?
