Pokemon HeartGold Question?

What kind of Pokemon will be good as a HM Slave in Pokemon HeartGold because since HeartGold doesn't take place in a Sinnoh there isn't going be like a Bidoof which is really good with HM Slaves and stuff and I want to know which Pokemon will be a good HM Slave in HeartGold just like Bidoof? Anyone knows? Because when I get it I don't want to mess up my Starter by giving it HMs like Slash and crap like I did on Platinum and stuff............
